Dual Enrollment
GateWay partners with Valley high schools to offer dual enrollment credit for academic and occupational classes. Dual enrollment courses are held on high school campuses and are taught by high school instructors who have met community college hiring qualifications. Through dual enrollment we strive to ease the transition from high school to college and to increase the number of college-bound high school students in our community.

Courses
Dual enrollment courses span the curriculum from liberal arts and math/science classes to practical business and technology courses. Students can also earn credit in occupational fields such as healthcare, Cisco networking, and automotive technology while completing their high school education. All courses use college-approved textbooks, syllabi, course outlines, and grading standards equivalent to courses taught at the college.
How it Works
GateWay partners with more than 30 schools in nine districts throughout Maricopa County. Once high school courses and instructors are approved for dual enrollment credit, students are notified about dual enrollment opportunities at their high schools. Students register and pay for courses, then receive college grades and transcripts upon completion of the course.
Students
Dual enrollment students are generally juniors and seniors in high school and they must be enrolled in a high school class that has been approved for dual enrollment credit. In some cases students will be required to pass a placement test to enroll. Students must submit registration and tuition by the stated deadline in order to be eligible for college credit.
